Home > Pantry to School Program

Each month Hope Food Pantry Austin will fill fifty bags of ready to eat items which then will be distributed to students for weekend sustenance. School counselors at each of the participating elementary schools are Blackshear, Campbell, Maplewood, Oak Springs, and Reilly will determine who receives the bags.  Each school has their very own style but all of them are so appreciative for our deliveries. It is so uplifting to meet so many people hard at work trying to provide a caring environment for the students. There are some amazing people in the Austin community making a difference every single day.

Thanks to the donations from last year’s Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage holiday matching fundraiser, Friends of McCallum Students volunteers, and Hope donors and volunteers, the new “Pantry to School” program is a go.

A shout out goes to the students of AHB Community School for packing all the bags every first Wednesday of the month and to Brooke A, McCallum social worker, for bringing this program all together.  We will be in search of bags to use so if you are able to get your hands on fifty bags to help fill our orders then please email Stephanie at info@hopefoodpantryaustin.org.
