The Hope Food Pantry Austin volunteers work hard every week to deliver food, from many resources, to one location so that our neighbors in need can visit us and choose select groceries to fill their own pantries.  A lot of planning, fundraising, and organizing are all part of the mix just to fill clients’ baskets with much needed food supplies.  Please consider joining our team to help fill our pantry with food so that our neighbors can fill theirs.  The following are ways to get involved:

Group Volunteering
Bring your team of 10-15 employees to the pantry for a day of service.  In order to schedule a group of 10-15 employees to distribute food on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday morning we ask that the company commit to the following:

1) organize a food drive to be delivered and used the morning of the service (see list below)

2) Donate $500 (covers the meat, eggs, and other staples purchased every week)

Much needed food drive items to fill the shelves with are:
cereal and oatmeal
peanut butter and jelly
soups and/or ramen
snacks such as granola bars
general cooking mixes
Cooking oil
ranch or blue cheese Salad dressings
Cake Mix
tuna and
other miscellaneous items found in the grocery store.

Become a “Food Rescue” Partner
Join Natural Grocers at Vitamin Cottage, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Pepperidge Farm, and Snap Kitchen and offer your “extra” food you won’t be selling to a good cause!

There are other ways to help out such as provide support to our annual fundraiser or supply a food or fund drive to the cause.  Just mention these other ways to Stephanie when reaching out.
