Hope Volunteers distribute groceries weekly. We also collaborate with other services to increase our outreach. Our goal is to not only provide a resource to Austin families but also help build relationships within the community.

Hope Food Pantry Austin is a partner agency with Central Texas Food Bank and uses its position to collaborate with community partners to help alleviate hunger in the Austin community.  Hope is a 501c3 operating under the umbrella of Imagine for All EIN 47-1612380. The following are ways we meet our mission:

Weekly Distribution: Families are eligible to receive our services by 1) having an annual income at or below 185% of Federal poverty level, 2) currently receiving some form of government assistance (e.g., SNAP), or 3) are currently in a crisis requiring emergency food assistance.

Partners with the City of Austin Plus 1 Utility Assistance program: Serious illness, a recent job loss, or other emergencies can make it difficult for some customers to pay their utility bills. Hope’s partnership with the Plus 1 fund helps provide emergency financial aid to residential customers who are having a temporary problem paying their utility bills.

St. John’s UMC and Hope serve AISD families in crisis: Hope offers bags of groceries to families working through the AISD Licensed Mental Health Professionals and St. John’s UMC.

Food Rescue Program: We help keep perfectly fine food from going into the landfill and provide clients with fresh food options.  Each week, we pick up food from Natural Grocers, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Pepperidge Farm.

Children’s Library Program: This provides the grade school children, who come in with their families, with a selection of books to take home with them.

Programs closed until further notice:

Hope Closet Program: This program allows clients to shop and receive much needed clothes while waiting for their food.  Think food bank but for clothing! It is available on the days when we distribute food.
